There are many monuments in Torrox for you to visit. There are numerous spots for art and culture lovers to enjoy. We can begin this cultural tour by visiting the Church of Our lady Encarnated of a barroque style. It was founded in the 15th century. It towers over what use to be a muslim mosque. Our lady of the snow chapel and Los Roques church from the 16th century are also important monuments in this locality.
Of the civil works, Saint Joseph Hospital was built in the 18th century, and is today in ruins. The vigilant towers should also be mentioned. Probably the most important cultural point is that of the Clavicum roman ruins next to Torroxs´ lighthouse. It is one of the most important roman ruins in southern Spain. |
