Nature in Torrox is of great importance. More than 40,000 acres like that of Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara, and Alhama, the natural border between the provinces of Malaga, and Granada are a natural paradise. Here lies the Natural Reserve of Tejeda and Almijara.
This area of Sierra de Tejeda is the place that holds the most limestone, while the area of Almijara has the highest concentrations of Marble. We are amongst an area that is very steep and abrupt, an incredibly diverse rich land. The highest point of La Maroma is 2,000 meters.
Of it´s flora and fauna we must mention diverse aspects. In it´s flora you´ll find the Black pine tree of the mediterrenean, as well as many bushes found in this territory. As to what the fauna is concerned we must mention the mountain goat, the golden eagle, the falcon and the common squirrel among other species.
It is an location that holds many different trails for those of you who like to trek or hike.
